Heidi Halsey MA LMFT
I am accepting new ADULT clients for:
tele-therapy / psycho-therapy
I see individual, couple, trios, families
I see people 25 and older, that live in Washington State - via Live Video Sessions / TeleTherapy / Tele Health. I see people under 25 in family therapy.
Tuesday - Thursday 9:00 am - 7 pm
Saturday 8 am - 5 pm
(Monday & Friday for established clients.)
ALL SESSIONS ARE THROUGH SECURE HIPAA COMPLIANT LIVE VIDEO CHAT
I see couples and simultaneously do individual sessions if necessary - to address individual issues or factors that help with the couple’s progress. I do not work with couples that are working with 2 other individual therapists already - 3 therapists for 1 couple creates increased distress.

Working with me
As a Therapist I am not going to listen and say "uh huh", "uh-huh", and then "I'll see you next week".
Therapy is a partnership with my clients. Together we can determine and accomplish your goals - with or without the cooperation of those around you.
*** People ask and re-ask and call their insurance and ask about "marriage" or "couples" therapy. Your insurance will say you aren't covered. YOU ARE COVERED. Using the term "marriage" is an event or situation that isn't an insurance billable medical health term for the people at your insurance company answering the phone. You have medical insurance and your stress, anxiety, sleep disruption, depression, worry, fear etc... caused by marital or couple difficulties ARE COVERED. Your symptoms qualify you to have your therapy billed to insurance as we are doing therapy to reduce your symptoms by solving the issues causing the symptoms and by helping you to learn to decrease or re-route the symptoms.
You can have anyone I agree to - your partner, spouse etc... attend your sessions.
Please - just ask the insurance what your copay and deductible for counseling - that is all - do not elaborate about the situation. I am a billing expert in the mental health field. If you want even more information, look on my insurance tab.
If you are seeking couples therapy, I do not work with couples where both people already have individual therapists / counselors. I am not willing to be the 3rd therapist / counselor involved with 2 people. I prefer to do the individual work and couples work simultaneously.
I do not believe that if you have relationship difficulties that it is necessary or better to get individual therapy for each of you before couples therapy 'so you are ready for couples work'. I actually see this impair the situation further because the individuals are getting individual support with a therapist / counselor who doesn't know the other person in the relationship. If you want to save or improve your relationship, do couples work first. A licensed marriage & family therapist (me) will treat you as an individual and a couple however you need treatment to benefit you two as individuals and within your relationship.
My combined experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Life Coach and Relationship Trainer, Co-Parent & Parenting Plan Mediator and former Guardian ad Litem / Parenting Investigator and College Professor, help me - help you.
