What I Do
I work with individuals, families, couples, teens, and
children - when their parents are involved. I previously
taught advanced family counseling and advanced
marriage counseling in a graduate level program. As a
counselor for over 23 years, I have considerable
experience working with marriage and divorce issues,
blending families, substance abuse, affairs, grief,
communication issues, depression, anxiety and issues
arising from various family stage transitions. I work
with all couples.
I am not a therapist who says, "Uh-huh" and then
says, "I'll see you next week." I ask a lot of
questions, help you get to the root of what you are
seeking to understand or change, and I suggest things
to think about or to do differently to assist you in
making progress on what you'd like to accomplish
between sessions.
I use Signing Exact English (Sign Language) at the
intermediate/advanced level. My signing skills are
better than my receptive skills.
